Living and Loving

All of us have day's when we really don't feel like loving someone, especially when they do us wrong. If anyone had a right to retaliate, it would have been King David. David was constantly running from Saul in order to save his life, once hiding from him in a cave.

In 2009, I was priviledged to be in tht very cave where David hid. It was obvious why Saul could not find him. Very scary, dark, cold, damp, not a place where I would want to hide out. Yet, David found himself in that very place. Later on, David had the chance to take Saul's life, he simply chose to not touch Gods anointed one. Once, finding Saul asleep in the cave, David took his sword and cut a piece off the end of his garment. Another time, David found him alseep and took his sword and water can. Both times, Saul was thankful, but not enough to want to spare David's life. In the end, Saul took his own life by falling on his own sword.

I have learned a long time it is a whole lot better to live if we love our enemies. God will take care of us if we put our trust in Him. We don't have to fight our battles or retaliate, God will. To GOD be the glory, great things HE has done.
